Meet Dr. Douglas Bowen, DMD MPH, Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Doug Bowen is proud to call the Mat-Su Valley home. An Alaska native who grew up watching his parents serve their community as educators, he was inspired to make a difference in the lives of children through pediatric dentistry. As a father of four, Dr. Doug understands the importance of creating a warm, compassionate, and comfortable dental experience for every child. He enjoys building relationships with families and is fluent in Spanish, making it easy for Spanish-speaking families to discuss their child’s dental needs.
Dr. Doug earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage before earning his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in Puerto Rico. He then completed his specialty training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He currently serves his country and community through the Alaska Army National Guard. Committed to providing the highest level of care, Dr. Doug continually expands his knowledge through advanced education in pediatric dentistry, including the latest techniques for keeping children comfortable and safe, particularly during procedures involving sedation.

How do I book an appointment?
You can book online in just 3 steps, with no payment required, or call us at (801) 785-8000. Our Patient Support Line is open Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 8 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 8 AM to 3 PM.
Where are your dental offices in Utah?
We have 19 offices in Utah, from Logan to Payson: Bountiful, Centerville, Draper, Eagle Mountain, Herriman, Layton, Lehi, Logan, Millcreek, Orem, Payson, Pleasant Grove, Riverton, Rose Park, Saratoga Springs, Springville, Union Park, West Jordan, and West Valley.
Are you open on weekends?
Yes. Our Patient Support Line is open Saturday and Sunday from 8 AM to 3 PM, and some of our offices are open on Sunday.
Do you accept my dental insurance?
We accept most dental insurances, including Delta Dental, Aetna, Cigna, MetLife, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Guardian, EMI Health, Dental Select, PEHP, and BlueCross BlueShield. Our team helps you verify your coverage and maximize your benefits.
Do you accept Medicaid?
Yes, we are now accepting Medicaid. Premier Access and MCNA Medicaid patients are accepted at our Bountiful office. Patients with the University of Utah School of Dentistry Network are accepted at our Bountiful, Centerville, Layton, Logan, Payson, Springville, Riverton, and Rose Park offices.
What if I don't have dental insurance?
Get an exam, X-rays, and a preventive cleaning for $119* (regular price $276). You can also join our In-House Dental Care Plan for $228 per year per person, which includes two preventive cleanings per year and 20% off all dental procedures.
Do you offer payment plans or financing?
Yes. Financing is available through CareCredit, Cherry, Sunbit, and Mountain America, and you can smile now and pay later with Klarna, Affirm, and Afterpay.
Do you offer braces and Invisalign?
Yes. Our orthodontists offer braces and Invisalign®. You can start your braces treatment for only $129*, and your first consultation is free.
Do you see children?
Yes. We now offer pediatric dentistry, so the whole family can get care at Professional Dental & Orthodontics.
What should I do in a dental emergency?
Call us right away at (801) 785-8000. We treat dental emergencies, and some of our offices are open on Sunday.
